A five-month-old first-time flyer has a beautiful encounter with a stranger

The Levine family was on their way home after a family trip to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Jake and Kelly Levine were a little nervous since it was the first flight for their five-month-old daughter, Romey.

Thankfully, Romey was calm and relaxed throughout the flight. She curiously stared at the women crocheting across the aisle, completely mesmerized by her fast-moving hands.

The crocheter, Meegan Rubin noticed as Romey watched her and promptly started a secret beanie project for the curious baby.

At the end of the flight, she surprised Romey with a beautiful beanie, which fit her perfectly.

"She was adorable and deserving of a custom beanie," Meegan Rubin wrote on Instagram.

This wholesome exchange between strangers is melting hearts all over the world.

This man is on a mission to help Hermit crabs adapt to natural shells

Hermit crabs are not born with shells. So, they adapt with empty shells to protect their bodies.

Due to the scarcity of natural shells and beach pollution, hermit crabs have to use discarded plastic waste as shells.

Shawn Miller started the crab conservation project, Make the Switch 4 Nature, to help remove trash and offer hermit crabs new shell homes.

He collects suitable shells and helps hermit crabs with beach trash homes to adapt to beautiful natural shells, before releasing them back into the wild.

He even carves positive messages on the shells to raise awareness about this situation!

Through this project, Shawn aims to inspire people to respect nature and think about the impact we have on the world around us.

"Hermit crabs are so important for the ecosystem. We got to start protecting them for future generations. And one thing [people] could do is participate in a beach cleanup and also return any unwanted shells back to the coastal forest for the animals in need," said Shawn.

Family opened their hearts and their home to an elderly neighbor

As they moved into their first home, Sharaine and Wilson Caraballo were dealing with a range of emotions that came with moving to a new area.

Fortunately, the Caraballo family received a warm welcome from their neighbor Paul Callahan. Paul came to their house and brought in a ladder to help the family set up their new home. This small gesture of goodwill led to a very special relationship between the Caraballos and Paul.

"I like people. It's easy to like people. I always tell people you know, you got to work at being nasty but it's easy to be nice," says Paul.

The family became a huge part of Paul's life and the Caraballo children embraced him as an honorary grandfather. Paul loves spending time with the children, entertaining them, and telling them stories about his life. He gets invited to every gathering and holiday event at the Caraballos house.

"It definitely reinforced my, um, faith in people because when I tell you that neither one of us sees color, neither one of us sees age. He's literally just great. He's not even a neighbor at this point, he's a family," says Sharaine Caraballo

Thoughtful classmates surprise boy with a birthday party

Ángel David from Ebéjico, Colombia, has never had a birthday party before, as, due to financial constraints, his mom had not been able to throw him a party.

When Ángel's teacher, Casas Ximeno, learned that his eighth birthday was coming up, she along with Ángel's classmates came up with a plan to surprise him with a birthday party.

As he walked in, Ángel's entire class came together to sing for the birthday boy.

The surprise left him in tears, but his classmates quickly embraced him in a warm group hug.
